Another Change in Plans
Our plan tonight was to go with friends to the Ice Bar at the Portland Harbor Hotel for martinis, followed by sushi at Ben Kay. However, one of our friends came down ill today. I was all in favor of a rain check so I could go to Yoga, and my other friend happily agreed. Yippee!

A Little Yoga to Finish Up the Week
I was pleasantly surprised to see my friend at the gym tonight. She was there to join me for yoga class. We are keeping each other on track with our weight loss and exercise goals.
Yoga was great. My friend and I had never taken this class with this instructor and she was pretty tough. We didn’t think it was going to be a tough class at first. It started out a bit too meditative. Once we really got going in the class we were both sweating a bit.
I never thought I’d be a yoga kinda gal. I always envisioned these svelt, long, lean bodies molding themselves into human pretzels. But I’m really enjoying these classes. I’m not the only one that struggles with certain positions. Oh sure, there are many that can do more than I can. But there are all different types of people in these classes and it’s never intimidating.
It was a nice way to wind down the week, a week filled with daily doses of cardio. Tomorrow I’ll be back at the cardio with spin class and a nice run on the treadmill.

Yoga
Say what you will about yoga. I’m here to tell you that it’s tough. The nice thing about Yoga is that you get out of it what you put into it, like many other physical activities. Some poses I can do well, others I struggle with. It should really help with my flexibility before I’m back on the bike for 6+ months.
